Hiking route from La Jarosa to the Via Crucis 4h

One of the best hiking routes that you can do through Guadarrama is before your eyes. Come have a great time for 4 hours on a walk from La Jarosa to the magnificent Via Crucis, where we will end with the best views of the entire city. Madrid community. We are waiting for you at the La Jarosa Reservoir for this hiking route to the Hermitage of the Altar Mayor.

The only thing necessary to enjoy this trekking route is that you must come full of energy to make the most of the experience of crossing part of Guadarrama. This route is not very difficult since it is of a medium level, but at all times we will be accompanied by a guide who will explain the route to us.

The activity will begin around 8:00 or 9:00 in the morning, but don't rush early as it will be worth it for the incredible views that we will have along the route.

On this walk through the Sierra de Guadarrama we will discover the surroundings from the Jarosa forest to our arrival at the Via Crucis. We will come across different viewpoints and hermitages among wild pines while we climb up to 2,700 steps to reach the Via Crucis of the Valley of the Fallen, we will also be able to pass through a quarry used during the construction stage. Finally we will reach the highest point called the Risco de la Nava, located at more than 1,000m where the Ermita del Altar Mayor is located.

From here we will enjoy incredible panoramic views of the remote capital of Madrid and the Valley of the Fallen. When it comes time to return we will go another way since the hiking route is a circular route and now it is all downhill, we will reach the Arroyo del Picazuelo and the la Jarosa reservoir strong> where our route will end.
