Trekking in the Maremma C2 Park

From Collecchio to Poggio, up to the Sugherine in the company of a trained local hiking guide: an unmissable proposal from the Uccellina Riding Club for lovers of nature and outdoor activities.

The route was created with the aim of offering hikers the opportunity to move within a great variety of environments of historical, natural and vegetation value and to enjoy the view of panoramic points of extraordinary beauty.
The recovery of existing paths that had long fallen into disuse has made it possible to rediscover incredible forgotten views.
The departure and arrival point is located in correspondence with the company center of the "Tenuta Agricola dell'Uccellina" in the locality "Podere Giulia", inserted in the agricultural area in the Piana del Collecchio, at an altitude of approximately 10 meters above sea level.
On our route we will touch some intermediate stages of fundamental importance, such as Torre Bassa, about 80 meters above sea level. and part of the “Collecchium" complex; the same area also includes the nearby Tower of the “Beautiful Marseille”, an ancient possession of the Aldobrandeschi since 1210; The Argilla Pools (145 meters above sea level) used as a breeding ground by wild boars and, last but not least, the panoramic site of Poggio alle Sugherine (292 meters above sea level), from which you can admire the Uccellina Mountains with its ancient watchtowers and let your gaze extend as far as the sea and some islands of the Tuscan archipelago.
The return, which takes you back, with a circular route, to the Tenuta Agricola dell'Uccellina, has, in its final part, a descent towards Torre Bassa which will take you back to the point of arrival.
