Guided tour of the Valtablado Desert, 3 hours

Enter the Despoblado de Valtablado, a place where time stopped. We invite you to visit theruins of the first uninhabited town in our territory, a space full ofhistory, memory and nature, which was abandoned in the 1970s due to the phenomenon of rural exodus.

To begin the visit, we will meet at the Roman Mine of Cueva del Hierro. During our guided tourof about 3 hours we will tour the remains of their houses, their silent streets and what was once a home for many families. At every step we will relive the stories that its stone walls still whisper, while we reflect on the causes and consequences of rural depopulation.

In addition, we will review the traditional uses of the mountains that surround the town: from harvesting and grazing to the popular wisdom that allowed the inhabitants to live in balance with their environment.
