Our 2-3 hour route begins at the Santa Cristina Smithy, an enclave steeped in history, where we will discover the remains of an ancient town from the Iron Age. These vestiges tell us about the first human settlements in the area and their evolution over time.
We will continue with the visit to theremains from the Roman era, witnesses of the passage of the Empire through these lands and its mark on the architecture and the territory. The combination of both periods will allow us to understand the archaeological and cultural wealth that this place contains.
We will also visit the place where the daughter of the famous writer Don Miguel de Cervantes, Isabel de Cervantes, resided. Together with her husband, Luis de Molina, they rented the Herrería for a time, in order to smelt the iron ore from the mine located in Cueva del Hierro.
After soaking up history, we will head towards one of the most spectacular points of the route: the natural viewpoint towards the Hoz Somera and the Hoz de Tragavivos. From here, we will enjoy impressive views, in an environment that combines the strength of the landscape with the calm of silence.
*During the months of September to June, visits that are from Monday to Friday must be made up of groups of at least 5 people.
