Guided Tour of Cáceres at Sunset for Adults

Sunsets are a gift from the universe, from the sky in particular. If on top of that there is a perfect conjunction with other elements of nature or with the shapes drawn by the architecture of the buildings, we can find, apart from the colors of the sky itself, textures, plays of shadows and unique reliefs.

As we said, there are natural places where seeing a sunset is a real dream. But there are also cities that lend themselves to living that experience in first person. Surely more than one of you has heard of Manhattanhenge, a phenomenon that occurs in the city of New York in which the sun, during the solstice, aligns exactly with the grid that forms the urban layout of its streets.

But we don't have to go that far to see such an event, just as magical. Here, in Spain, there are places that transform into something very different when the sun begins to set. Examples exist everywhere but we are going to focus on a point on the Peninsula where this prodigy emerges in an exultant way.

Obviously, this would not be possible or would not have as much impact if the city were not in one of the privileged places on the lists. We are talking about Cáceres, named World Heritage Site by UNESCO a long time ago 1986, a city that unifies in a single monumental complex the Christian, Jewish and Arab past.

For an hour and a half, accompanied by a qualified guide, officially accredited by Tourism of Extremadura, we will take a tour that crosses the exterior of the historic center taking advantage of the sunset. Little by little, progressively, the city will take on another entity when it begins to light up, coinciding with the arrival of night.
