The Alpine School of Gredos has been created so that everyone can get to know this spectacular place a little better, through climbing and mountaineering.

With us, you will tour the spectacular frozen corners, full of gorges, cliffs, cirques, lagoons, etc. During our journeys it is not unusual to find some specimen of Hispanic capra.

Furthermore, the Sierra de Gredos has the ideal conditions for a multitude of plant species to live here, at different heights, so the excursions are made with the best possible scenery.

The school is directed by the High Mountain and Physical Education professional, Raúl Lora. After having carried out expeditions to the most important peaks in the world, he now puts his experience at your disposal, so that you can discover the Sierra de Gredos.

We offer climbing courses (both rock and ice), mountaineering, rescue and even ski touring. If you want to discover the mountain in any of its facets, this is the right place.

How to get there?

Directions to get there from Madrid: Take the AP-6 highway towards A Coruña, then take the exit to Ávila, on the AP-51. As you approach this city, without having to enter it, you must continue straight without detouring for about 8-10 km along national 110 towards Plasencia. You will leave the city behind in about 6-8 km. and you will find a detour to the left towards Arenas de San Pedro (N-502). On this road continue for about 43 km, until Venta de Rasquilla, where you will find the indication towards San Martín del Pimpollar and Barco de Ávila on the right (AV-941). 16 km. From this intersection you will find the sign indicating the town Hoyos del Espino and 500 m. Then, on the right, you will find a white sign indicating Aguas de Gredos, we take it until we reach a crossroads, we will take the one on the right and you will find the School on the right hand side.
