Where to do a balloon ride in Hampshire?

They starts from the village of West Meon, so you'll have to go a little way out of the region. Don't worry though, it's not too far either, less than a 20 minute drive to this beautiful village. Being small, it's very quiet, and that's what makes it so special, as from the moment you get there you'll start to unwind and relax.

Through the flight, you may catch glimpses of the leafy trees of Queen Elizabeth Park or the colourful gardens of Exbury. If the skies are clear, you may be able to see the famous Winchester Cathedral, one of England's most historic landmarks, or the famous Highclere Castle, which may know as the setting for the popular TV series Downton Abbey. If you like English literature, then you'll be very excited to know that another place of interest you'll be able to see from above is the house of famous novelist Jane Austen.

As you will find out, a balloon flight in this area is like taking a journey through the culture and history of the county. And being just a 5 minute drive from Winchester, the district where the famous Hot Air Balloon Festival is held, if you want to enjoy the full experience and also enjoy one of the county's greatest spectacles, you can't miss it!

How long does it take one ride?

Balloon flights usually last 3 or 4 hours. This activity has to be done at a leisurely pace, as the most important thing is that you enjoy the whole process. First, you have to set up the balloon - taking part in this procedure is totally optional, but we advise you to have a go, as you will have a lot of fun. Once everything is ready, the experience begins and will last for a total of 1 hour. When you finish the ride, you'll feel like you're still floating because it will have felt like a dream.

Upon landing, you also have the option of helping with the dismantling of the balloon, and we believe that if you want to live the full experience then you can't miss out on being part of this process. The best part comes next, as you can have a glass of champagne on the ground while you celebrate the experience. As you can see, hot air ballooning in Hampshire is a packed and unique adventure not to be missed.

When is the best time to fly?

Although you would usually think that there is less rain in the summer months, there is often a lot of rain in Hampshire. For this reason, we recommend ballooning in August, which is the driest month of the year, or in autumn. It may be a little cooler in autumn, but the skies are clearer and that is the most important thing. One thing you should bear in mind is that if there is rain, fog or any other sub-optimal weather conditions on the day of your balloon ride, you will not be able to do the activity on that day.

For us, the most important thing is your safety and that you enjoy yourself - that's why we recommend you avoid the months we haven't mentioned, so that you can live out your dream of flying over this region.

What do you need to bring on the day of the activity?

You don't have to be wearing anything in particular to go up in a balloon. However, you do need to consider what you are wearing on the day you fly. In Hampshire, it's always a bit chilly, even in the summer months, so we recommend wearing comfortable mid-season clothing and flat, closed-toe shoes to keep you comfortable at all times. It tends to rain almost every day in England, so bring a raincoat just in case.

Apart from this, the only thing you should bring is a camera, so that you can capture the beautiful landscapes and so you will always remember them.

Now you have all the information you need to book this experience, so don't wait any longer and book your place - you won't regret it!
