Adventure sports come with the great appeal of adrenaline. Without a doubt, we all enjoy having a good time, and what better way than practising these kinds of sports in our free time. One of the options we present is skydiving, through which you can discover aerial landscapes while enjoying an incredible experience.

And if you're thinking of doing a tandem jump but don't know where, we recommend the company Skydive Empuriabrava, as they specialise in all skydiving disciplines. Do you know which one is yours?

European Freefly Record

Skydive Empuriabrava is a Catalan skydiving school with over 25 years of experience under its belt. A centre endorsed by the thousands upon thousands of skydivers who have passed through their facilities and jumped with them, featuring professional instructors.

Currently, due to their track record, they're able to host not only skydiving courses but also organise events including some like the European Freefly Record. Would you like to know what this competition involves?

European Freefly Record

Last September, Skydive Empuriabrava organised alongside Babylon Freefly the 4th attempt at the European Freefly Record, which saw participation from over 110 European skydivers of up to 18 different nationalities. All of them practice freefly (freeflight), which involves jumping in a vertical position headfirst, through which they attempt to form a "head down" formation. The previous record stood at 51 skydivers specialised in performing these formations at speeds exceeding 300km/h.

Participants made their jumps between 21st and 25th September at the Skydive Empuriabrava facilities, where they jumped simultaneously from 5 aircraft flying in a "V" formation at about 6,000 metres altitude.

Ultimately, the Babylon Freefly team (current world champions on 6 occasions) and Skydive Empuriabrava managed to surpass their own previous record, thanks to an 80-person "head down" formation.

Empuriabrava 16-Way Trophy

The skydiving company Skydive Empuriabrava also organised its annual event in September, now in its third edition, featuring 8 teams competing in a "round-robin" format.

For this event, each team consisted of 16 skydivers plus a camera flyer (also a jumper), with 50 seconds to perform various aerial formations. As the practice was against the clock, the winning team would be the one achieving the highest number of formations during the jump after 6 rounds.

120 skydivers from various nationalities participated, including France, Belgium, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland and the United States, among others.
