Yes, we all know what a snowmobile is, but not all of us have dared to ride one, right? Fortunately, our country enjoys excellent winter conditions. Numerous resorts, from north to south, offer countless slopes and attractions for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts, but today we’re talking about our neighbouring country. The small nation of Andorra is another premier winter destination for many enthusiasts, and its offerings are more than extensive.

Among all its winter proposals, snowmobiling in Grandvalira (click here for full details) is gaining more followers every year, and for good reason. These vehicles, powered by a single traction wheel (track mode), will let you traverse most snow-covered terrain and make your experience unforgettable. In most cases, no licence or driving permit is required—just a brief explanation from the instructor on how to handle it, who will also guide you during the tour.

It’s important to wear appropriate gear for your snowmobile adventure. From windproof jackets, gloves, and mountain boots to sunscreen for your skin. They accommodate two people, and children aged 6 and up can ride when accompanied by an adult. Route durations range from 10 minutes for the little ones to 2-hour routes. Snowmobile excursion through Andorra

Within the largest winter resort in the Iberian Peninsula, there are numerous sectors offering adventurers and families a variety of snowmobile routes and circuits. Many of these are already marked, while others are adjusted based on weather conditions and instructor recommendations.

All leisure activities and offerings in Grandvalira are located on the north face of the mountain. The sectors' positioning differs from the actual ski slope map of the resort, which is the opposite, so we’ll start with the Pas de la Casa and Grau Roig sectors. (on the left of the piste map and right on a standard map)

1. Pas de la Casa - Grau Roig Sector (2,100 metres altitude)

These sectors offer many snowmobile routes to enjoy the area, including night-time adventures. For example, Grau Roig is the quintessential sector of this winter resort, with numerous zones just like Pas de la Casa.

 Grau Roig Sector

One of the most famous routes is climbing through the Grau Roig forest, a black pine forest, or exploring Grandvalira Mountain Park, a leisure and adventure sports centre. It also features several marked circuits and the only FIS-approved Kilometre Lanced slope in the entire Iberian Peninsula—impressive, right?

2. Soldeu - El Tarter Sector (1,800 metres altitude)

Both sectors also offer snowmobiling opportunities. Located in the heart of Grandvalira’s ski resort, they feature various trails that ascend to Grandvalira’s peaks, with multiple route packages available. It’s also a perfect area for children and offers plenty of leisure activities for younger visitors.
