1. Sopelana
One of the most legendary paragliding spots in Biscay, Sopelana sees frequent flights throughout the day. Flights take off at an altitude of 90 metres and are possible almost year-round. You’ll always be able to launch and land at the same site, making it perfect for beginners looking to learn quickly.

The flight is typically a smooth ridge run. On windy days, you can glide along the coastal cliffs. Launch points vary: west, north, east, or the Búnker take-off (currently out of use).

Landings can be done anywhere on the beach, though most commonly at the launch site, or on the north-facing field (the best landing spot).

2. Orduña
One of Biscay’s earliest paragliding sites, Orduña offers a thrilling ridge/thermal flight with a breathtaking launch at 920 metres. Take off from the Orduña Pass and land in the valley near La Venta—a straightforward landing.

Fly toward the valley, soaring past La Virgen and El Mirador, or head further to Tologorri.
3. Getxo
This coastal town in Biscay boasts beaches like Las Arenas, Ereaga, Arrigunaga, Azkorri-Gorrondatxe, Barinatxe, La Bola, Tunelboca, and Puerto Viejo. The flight lets you admire Biscay’s green fields and blue seas from above, revealing Getxo from a new perspective.

Flights last 20-30 minutes with low difficulty, suitable for all ages. You’ll fly tandem with an instructor—just relax and enjoy the views.

4. Zeberio
Located in the Arratia-Nervión region, Zeberio’s valley gives the village its name. A unique way to explore it is via tandem paragliding, offering panoramic views of its rural landscapes.

This beginner-friendly flight is available year-round (wind permitting). Ideal for both novices and experienced pilots.

5. Cabo Villano
A spectacular 300-metre-high flight zone with Cabo Villano Island beneath you. Strong winds allow flights over the island and back to the ridge effortlessly. Best flown in spring/summer.

Three launch points:
• Monte Ermua: Highest take-off. The 10-minute climb rewards with flight flexibility.
• Main launch: Most popular—simple and well-oriented. Requires sufficient wind.
• West launch: Cliffside, higher than the main launch. Least recommended.
