He was arrested and released along with 10 others as part of an investigation that the Armed Institute has been working on for some time. The Superior Technical School of Industrial Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, where the exam was being held, witnessed these arrests.
The government delegate in the Valencian Community, Paula Sánchez de León, reported that 4 of the 21 detainees were part of the organisation and were those outside the classroom providing exam answers; another 7 were impersonating other candidates, while the remaining 10, including Pedrosa, were taking the test using an earpiece.
Sánchez de León provided no further details as the judge has ordered a "gag order" and the identity of those arrested cannot be revealed.

Although Dani Pedrosa's representative initially stated the rider was in Switzerland, his lawyer David Gil Fernández has just issued a statement to Europa Press agency in which Pedrosa admits "following bad advice led me to make a mistake". He apologised to all who trusted him and stated he now wants to focus solely on the MotoGP World Championship, which begins next weekend.
Those arrested by the Civil Guard will give statements at Valencia's Court of Instruction number 8 after allegedly falsifying documentation to obtain pleasure craft licences, according to the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community. The rider remains free while awaiting formal charges.
