Most (if not all) of us know the flyboard, that water sport where propulsion lets you rise several metres above the water while standing on a board connected to a jet ski. In other words, you step onto a board with tubes underneath, providing all the necessary thrust to lift you—thanks to its connection to a jet ski. This article has more detailed info.
Well, now there’s a new invention: a water bike propelled by a jet ski. Sounds odd, doesn’t it?

THE ZAPATA FLYRIDE

What is the Zapata Flyride?

It’s a water bike-shaped structure that can carry up to 2 people (200 kg), with the added feature of controls for take-off and landing. It’s very light, weighing around 33 kg, and its handling is said to be incredibly easy.

The power comes from a second jet ski via hoses, which is what makes the Flyride take off. The best part? It automatically adjusts its position thanks to built-in electronic sensors, offering four riding modes to make the experience much safer—even for children to pilot.

Key details:

Its top speed is around 19 knots (34-36 km/h). It’s shorter than a conventional jet ski, measuring under 2 metres in length, and narrower than 1 metre (0.75m).

As mentioned earlier, its load capacity is up to two people, with a maximum weight of 200 kg.

Price:

It costs around £7,000 (approx. €7,000), though you’ll also need a second jet ski with at least 155 hp to use the Flyride.
