The Flyboard is a sport that has become increasingly popular worldwide in recent times. Why? Perhaps because of how striking it is—after all, it lets you "fly" over the water, and who hasn’t dreamed of flying at least once?

It also has a touch of Marvel comic-book superheroes, and who wouldn’t want to feel like a superhero?

What is flyboarding?

In this link, you’ll find all the companies specialising in this activity. It’s a water-propelled board connected to a jet ski, which provides all the power needed to thrust you forward. Thanks to this propulsion, the rider can soar up to an impressive height of 12 metres!

You might wonder, "How does it work?" Quite simply: the flyboard’s hose connects to the jet ski, and there are two options—either someone controls it from the jet ski, or you control it yourself from the board (far more fun!).

The board you stand on has two powerful jets that enable lift, and you can manoeuvre them at will by shifting your legs; these handle 90% of the propulsion.  The nozzles where you place your hands help you maintain balance, much like ski poles would.

No prior experience is needed—within just 15 minutes, 95% of first-timers are already flying! Not only that, but you can also dive underwater and resurface!

Who came up with the idea? The creator is Franky Zapata, a French jet-ski champion who ventured into the business of watercraft and other "gadgets" like the flyboard.
