The weekend arrives. We're at home and don’t know what to do. Tired of the usual plans, the best option is to opt for an adventure sport, but... which one to choose?
Fancy an adrenaline rush? Feeling the speed, living the thrill to the fullest, controlling a vehicle that makes you lose track of time... All of this can be summed up in one activity: racing on a karting circuit. Without a doubt, it’s something you must try at least once in your life...

On the market, you’ll find many places for buying and selling karts, but you don’t need to purchase one—you can also visit circuits where you can take a few laps. If it’s your first time, relax: it’s a sport suitable for all ages and very easy to handle.
Wherever you go, make sure the specialists explain how to use the karting equipment. The most important thing is that the activity takes place with maximum safety so you can fully enjoy it. We also recommend preparing yourself for intense emotions—otherwise, it’s best not to participate.
If you later decide karting is your thing, why not dare to compete? Start with your friends, and if you see potential to go further, sign up for karting championships in your region or community.

There are different categories in competitive karting, which changed a few years ago, replacing the previous ones.
- KF1 replaces the former FA (Formula A)
- KF2 replaces the former ICA (Intercontinental A)
- KF3 replaces the former ICA-Junior (ICA-J)
- KF4 is the so-called "Basic" category
- KZ1 replaces the former Super-ICC
- KZ2 replaces the former ICC (Intercontinental C)
These categories use 125 cc engines, with 2-stroke automatic and single-cylinder options—the former without gearboxes, while those in the KZ category have them.
Regarding the age limits set by the Royal Spanish Motorsport Federation for these championships, competitors can start from age 8. There’s no maximum age, so you’ve still got time to become the next Fernando Alonso.
Remember: adrenaline is guaranteed, and there’s no better way to feel speed than a kart race.
