CV selection process

A new trend

Escape rooms have been extremely popular in Spain over recent years. With around 700 rooms nationwide featuring diverse themes, they offer over 1200 games as a new form of urban entertainment. This group activity involves entering a thematically designed room where the objective is to escape, typically in under 60 minutes. To succeed, team members must collaboratively solve puzzles and decipher clues to find the exit.

A group activity that fosters logical thinking and ingenuity. The countdown has begun, but...

What makes companies use them in recruitment processes?

An innovative approach to selection processes where candidates undergo real-time challenges. This recruitment method evaluates candidates' workplace behaviour by assessing teamwork, camaraderie, decision-making, communication skills, language use, and problem-solving strategies.

Depending on the sector, the escape game will be tailored accordingly, falling under the "gamification" concept. While candidates are individually assessed, group competencies take precedence. These dynamics allow recruiters to holistically evaluate the activity and draw specific conclusions about each candidate. The ultimate goal is to genuinely understand candidates - something that doesn't always happen in personal interviews

How do candidates perceive this?

Initially, candidates are often surprised and slightly confused by being constantly observed, with every movement, word or action being assessed both positively and negatively. While participants focus on escaping, recruiters aim to observe and analyse everything throughout the game.
