Vivian Watersports, also known as Vivian Diving Centre, is located in Llanberis, right in the heart of Padarn Country Park, at the foot of Mount Snowdon.
Vivian Watersports can offer its clients both an RYA Training centre based in Caernarfon, offering courses to get you started on your power boating journey. There are also many PADI diving courses available, from beginners to experts looking to get even more out of their diving.
The quarry where Vivan Watersports dive is in an amazing location – an old slate quarry – which has filled with clean clear water with very little sediment. The depths you will be able to dive range from 6 to 19.5 metres, and there are various items and wildlife to see in the lake.

Summary Powerboating
Vivian Watersports Ltd, also known as Vivian Diving Centre, have their own RYA training centre based in the Menai Straits. These course will help you improve your powerboating skills and confidence. On offer at Vivian Watersports are;
- RYA Powerboat Level 1 – A great one day introduction to powerboating, no previous knowledge is needed. This course can also be done by people who are too young to do the level 2 course, or for those that just want a taster session.Ages 8+
- RYA Powerboat Level 2 – A two day course that goes into a wide range of topics, and is the most popular course. This course is good for people who are knowledgeable about sailing and want to get started on powerboating.
- RYA Level 2 Direct Assessment – For people who have experience in powerboating, but no qualifications, and want some.
Summary Diving
Vivan Diving Centre, located at the foot of Mount Snowdon, offers a wide range of PADI dive courses. There is something for everyone of all ages and skill levels. Some of the course on offer are;
- Padi Bubblemake Experience – A great way to introduce children to scuba diving in a safe environment.
- PADI Discover Scuba – A taster course for those who want to try it out without getting an actual certification.
- PADI Open Water Course – Get certified in scuba diving.
- PADI Adventure Diver Course – Sample digital underwater photography, wreck diving in this course that counts towards credit in the corresponding PADI Specialty course, eventually working your way up to be a PADI Master Scuba Diver.
If you would like to dive the Vivian Slate Quarry, there are many things that you can see. Wildlife like trout and common eels populate the area, and the depths range from 6 to 19.5 metres. There are also some points of interest such as sunken boats, a van, a blust hut and a gnome garden.
