Quoile Yacht Club

Welcome to the Quoile Yacht Club where you can enjoy sailing with a wide variety of events as well as sailing and powerboating training in Northern Ireland. As an official RYA Training Centre we provide excellent instruction according to the RYA syllabus.

One of our objectives at our sailing club is to provide fabulous events to allow you to enjoy your favourite hobby. We offer Cruiser and Squib events, organise races and welcome youth sailors to come out as well.

Our sailing and powerboating tuition is carried according to the RYA syllabus and we offer a wide variety of sailing courses for both adults and youth and a weekly sailing clinic on Sundays for young sailors. We are able to provide numerous powerboating courses as well.

Quoile Yacht Club Sailing is a welcoming sailing club and RYA Training Centre located in Downpatrick. We offer a wonderful location to enjoy sailing and racing in a social environment as well as to obtain official RYA training for both adults and youth.

Sailing with our club is a great way to enjoy racing, Squibs and Cruisers and we offer multiple events that give you an opportunity to get out and compete.

Our sailing training is carried out according to the RYA syllabus and we offer courses for all levels as well as  Dinghy (NSS) Level 1, 2, and 3 and Dinghy (YSS) Level 1, 2, and 3. Weekly training sessions are held on Sunday mornings for youth as well.

For RYA Powerboat training in Northern Ireland, Quoile Yacht Club Powerboating can provide you with all that you are looking for. As a recognized training club, we are an RYA Training Centre, providing a wide range of powerboating courses for different levels.

Our powerboating courses feature the following:

• RYA Powerboating Level 1: Instructor to student ratio 1:3
• RYA Powerboating Level 2: Instructor to student ratio 1:3
• RYA Safety Boat
• RYA Intermediate Powerboating
• RYA Advanced Powerboating

Children as young as 8 can come along for training as long as they are accompanied by an adult for Levels 1 and 2 and the other courses require participants to be at least 16.
