There's a lot of history behind Knockburn Loch. It dates back to 1998, when Bert McIntosh bought the area and started working on it in 2001, creating the loch. Then, he added a house with garages, volleyball courts, changing facilities, a football pitch and a conference centre, creating a recreational venue, welcoming people to enjoy a day in the outdoors!
June 2007 was the official opening date, and since then, thousands of people have visited the area to enjoy multiple sports, such as running, football, sailing and more. In 2015 a 650m cycle track was added, as well as an extension of the loch!
Knockburn Sports Loch specialises in water and land experiences for members and non-members. We cater our sessions for kid activity camps, corporate groups, summer camps, stag and hen parties and more. You can choose between equipment hire (SUP and Kayaking) or a group session upon request. Among our land activities, you can enjoy beach volleyball, cycling, orienteering, running and football.
We are the ideal venue for an exclusive activity day in a private and stunning setting. We work with qualified and dedicated instructors, always aiming to deliver a top-tier experience, tailoring every session to individual needs!

We are an outdoor activity centre located in Knockburn Loch. There's a lot of history behind our centre, starting in 1998 when you couldn't find the loch or any facilities at all, but thanks to Bert McIntosh, everything became a reality.
We have one of the top-ranked triathlon venues in the country with a 750m loop around the loch for events. Our loch offers flat waters and a stunning atmosphere for children and adults to enjoy a relaxing SUP session. Members and non-members are welcome!
You can enjoy equipment hire sessions and lessons upon request. We run our experiences from May to September, catering our adventures to individuals and groups. We arrange personalised events such as birthdays, stag and hen parties, corporate days and more. Let us know, and we will make it happen.
