At Calima Surf & Kitesurf Lanzarote we are experts in the water sports that are most enjoyed by the wild coasts of Famara, on the island of Lanzarote.
We have a pleasant and stable temperature throughout the year so you can come visit us at any time. Our specialty is surf camps, an activity that we combine with other disciplines to offer each student a day full of outdoor adventure.
In our catalog you will find:
- School for all levels: aimed at teaching surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing, with stay in our own accommodation for multi-day programs.
- Camps: in all our variants, usually distributed over 5 days with lessons, free practice and alternative activities.
- Diving: within the surf camps we teach you the first steps in scuba diving.
- Hiking: with routes through the points declared of natural interest on the island, exclusive for surf camp students.
Summary Kitesurfing
At Calima Surf we assure you of learning kitesurfing on the Famara coasts, where we will have a surface area before the sea of 6 kilometers, especially if the tide is low.
You can learn at your own pace or intensively in our kite camp, in both cases we use the IKO method, internationally recognized, and from which you will obtain the qualification when you have finished:
- A training program in which we will attend to the safety rules and prevention of risks in the water, flight and control of the kite, relaunch to recover the height of the kite that falls into the sea and first movements.
- Knowledge of the materials that we will use, with kites from the most prestigious brands on the market and elements strictly aimed at the course, such as helmet, harness, radio control vest and neoprene.
In addition to Spanish, our instructors master English and Italian, thus expanding the type of students we are trained to serve.
Summary Surfing
At Calima Surf, in addition to organizing exclusive camps to learn to catch waves all year round with the warm temperatures of Lanzarote, we organize lessons that you can book individually at our school.
In addition, our instructors can help you in Spanish, English, French or German, which allows you to share your stay with people of all nationalities, making your surf vacation the perfect place for cultural exchange. Choose between:
- Daily lessons, for groups, private or semi-private: every day we will pick you up at the hotel to take you to the sea and begin the warm-up and subsequent exercises by level.
- Surf Camps: aimed at adults and children, in separate teaching blocks, both in summer and winter. Offered at beginner and intermediate levels.
- Surfaris: you can only take on this challenge if you already consider yourself a professional. Then it will be time to join us every day in search of the best and most aggressive waves anywhere on the island.
- Pro Free Surf: camp for experts with two days for free practice and the possibility of taking excursions to test the waters of Fuerteventura, La Graciosa and Lobos.
Summary Windsurfing
At Calima Surf we teach you how to practice windsurfing on the beaches of Famara and Costa Teguise through our school and camps only focused on this discipline or as part of your surfcamp.
Windsurfing camps are aimed at people with no experience, with an intermediate level or who have already achieved considerable knowledge. In5 days of intensive lessons:
- We will train autonomous athletes who end the week being able to stay in the sea, in the case of beginners. The rest of the students will notice a noticeable improvement in the technique they started with.
- The basic classes include setting up and collecting the material, folding the sail and obtaining balance on the board. Afterwards, you advance according to the pace of each participant.
- In addition to material, we will take you to the beach every day, where we will have 1 hour and a half classes plus free time to practice on our own as many times as we feel like.
Summary Kitesurfing Camps
Our kitecamps as well as the courses can be carried out as long as optimal conditions exist, with favorable wind. Our camps are aimed at people with all levels, from those who want to get started to those who already have experience and want to develop other techniques, such as freestyle.
In our theory and practice courses you will be able to learn everything related to safety and prevention, both in and out of the water, you will know how to lift a kite from the water, handle the kite in and out of the sea, control the swing, the position must be adopted, the speed that the board will reach, etc.
The camp includes:
- Accommodation for 7 nights very close to the sea
- 4 days of theoretical and practical classes lasting 3 hours a day with all the material included
- Transportation from school to the spot we go to
- Instructors and all corresponding insurance
- Internet
- Dossier on the island
- 1 monitor for every 4 students (maximum)
Summary Surfing Camps
The boys will live in our surfhouse in Famara (Lanzarote) where they will move around the best surfing beaches in the surroundings. Boys and girls from all over Europe come to the camp, which will help your children socialize and practice a language as important as English. In addition, our surfhouse is located right on the beach so that you can easily access it and our instructors will accompany you 24 hours a day.
During their stay they will practice and improve their surfing technique helped by the instructors and other companions. They also have the possibility of taking surf courses in English or Spanish. At the end of the stay they will receive a diploma for their participation in the camp.
But they will also have to do other activities such as taking a pleasant kayak ride or taking a hiking route. They will be able to play volleyball in the sand, have fun on a kart circuit and carry out different workshops and entertainment games, among many other activities.
Summary Paddle Boarding
This sport is very easy to do and suitable for all types of people and all ages. It continues to add people to its ranks day after day. It consists of maintaining your balance on a board similar to a surfboard and propelling yourself with a paddle to make the best crossings or catch all the waves that come your way.
We offer courses for all levels, but we warn you that they are short in duration as you will learn the technique immediately. Of course, you need to learn the correct position, maintain balance and respect safety regulations.
And if you want, you can come with us to make different trips along different points of our coast. Thus, for example, we make trips to the Charco San Inés, we visit the Famara cliffs and we enter the Quiqui ravine, among other journeys .

How to get there?
As soon as we arrive at the town of Caleta de Famara we are located on the first street on the left (C/ Achique 14). Normally we place an advertising boat with our name at the entrance of the street so you can't miss it. If the school is closed you can also find us in our store located on the main street of Caleta de Famara (Av. del Marinero) right in front of the bar known as "El Chiringuito".
