10 things to do in Castellón

Castellón, land of the sun and beaches and don’t leave anyone indifferent. Its Mediterranean gastronomy, led by its famous paellas, is just the beginning. Composed by enchanting municipalities like Morella, this Valencian Community region offers a great variety of adventure activities to carry out: parachute jumps, jet ski routes, scuba diving… We propose you ten activities:

1. Go parachuting from El Pinar airdrome.



Have you ever felt like this force of feeling gravity in its pure state? Now, from the El Pinar airdrome, located at from several meters from the sea, you can jump from a light aircraft at 4.000 meters in height and experience one the most incredible emotions that the body can ever feel and receive in the Azahar coast.

2. Segway route through Peñíscola old quarter.



Have fun whilst visiting the Peñíscola port on a Segway. Its proximity to the old quarter will give you the opportunity to visit one of the most emblematic buildings, the Papa Luna castle. As you see, is an activity that combines cultural tourism with adventure. Now you know, everything that has wheels always implies a fun touch.

3. Rafting in the Montanejos white waters.



Let yourself go to the interior of Castellón enjoying a good adventure in the white waters of Montanejos. Enjoy the rich variety of fauna and flora of this small Valencian town located in the valley of the river Mijares while descending its incredible rapids. And if you have time, rest watching the springs that are hidden among their pine forests.

4. Jet ski route through the Pebret.



Combine sun and beach tourism by riding a fun water bike on one of the few sandy beaches that exist in Castellón, the Pebret. Located in the Sierra de Irta Natural Park, the sensation of freedom that transmits planning over the Mediterranean will be duplicated by observing the wavy line formed by its dunes.

5. Hang gliding through the skies of Castellón de la Plana.



If you want to make a different plan, combining open air, height, speed, and tourism, flying over the skies of the Castellón de la Plana beach in hang gliding could be a plan tailored to your needs. When you are up there, you can see the contrast between the center of the city and the coast, since the area of El Grao (maritime district) is only four kilometers from the city.

6. Bungee jumping in the Benafer bridge.



Unleash your most daring instinct and throw yourself into the void with the assurance of returning. Whether you are from Valencia or from Castellón, the Benafer bridge is the ideal location if you want to practice bungee jumping given its proximity to both cities, just 50 minutes. It is not an activity for all people, but if you want to have a good time with friends and enjoy a unique moment, do not hesitate to practice it.

7. Horseback route in Morella.



Castellón is not just beach tourism. If you are looking for an experience that is closer to the mountain, a horseback ride through the incredible Morella will meet your expectations. Among its natural attractions is the Bergantes River, which will make your trip more enjoyable. But if you are more interested in buildings and monuments, you can not miss the castle of the XVIIIth century of Islamic architecture that receives the same name as the town. Without going any further, the very Jaume I said of this charming municipality that it was a place for kings.

8. Scuba dive in Alcossebre.



Do you like to browse the bottom of the sea? Immerse yourself in the crystal clear waters of the coves of Alcossebre. Among the different coves that make up this idyllic area of the Mediterranean Sea, there is the white cove, Cala Mundina, and the Argilaga cove. In addition, if you have patience and a good eye you can see the colorful marine life that inhabits this area like the hamstring, the sea bream, the conger eel or the moray eel.

9. Buggy route throughout Barracas surroundings.



Discover the wildest and rockiest roads of the municipality of Barracas at the controls of a buggy. Located in the enclave of the Sierra de Pina, uploaded to this fun vehicle you can enter into mountainous terrain as the Mazorral, one of the few remaining forests in the Valencian Community.

10. Descend the Chillapájaros ravine.
