"We could not swim with the sharks, the captain really well, but the guide not so good with unreliable and contradictory information. In the end we only saw them, but they tried hard to do it. I believe that it is necessary to confirm beforehand the possibility of doing it or not depending on whether or not there are sharks located or when the time is appropriate or not."

Tips if you are going to do Swim with Whale Shark in Mexico

Swimming with the giants of the ocean is a great experience that you can't miss and that you have to live at least once in your life. It will be an adventure where you will learn their way of life, characteristics, food and, above all, the importance of their own ecosystem.

1. Plan your excursion



Even if it is true that the season to come and visit these beautiful species is during the months of May to December, we suggest you plan your trip between June and August since that is when you will be able to find the greatest amount of them and live an even more vivid natural spectacle. Generally, trips are made in shared boats, led by excellent crew members and biologists who will talk to us about the life, feeding and cycle of these great ones. 2. Is the whale shark dangerous? Should I worry for my safety?

However, the whale shark is one of the most docile species in the sea and, in fact, they like to be visited and greeted. 3. Rules to follow before and during the swim



Each and every one of the companies must provide you with safety equipment including a life jacket, which you must wear throughout the activity, including the swimming bits. The distance you must keep with the whale shark must be from 3 to 5 meters to respect its environment, not to disturb them and, above all, you need to keep your cool around this majestic fish. The skin care and sun protection products that you wear on that day must be eco-friendly in order not to damage their ecosystem. Do not forget to listen carefully to the indications, learn to be responsible and with this enjoy an experience that will surely become unforgettable.

4. Kids are also welcome



This decision will depend on the company selected to carry out the activity, however, it usually accepts kids from over 5 years old, and some others from over 8 years old. So, if you want to enjoy this activity with your kids or nephews, you will not have any inconvenience, and surely they will love these spectacular species as much as you do.
