What are the best places to dive in Formentera?
- Diving in La Mariana. La Mariana, also called La Plataforma, is one of the best known diving spots in Formentera. It is located on the island of Espardell, so we can already predict that what awaits you will be a delight. La Mariana is a structure that was once used as a fish farm, although today, it has become an artificial reef that promises the best diving spots in Formentera. At most, you can go up to 33 meters deep, so if you have your Advanced Open Water Diver license, you will love this place. Conger eels, groupers, lobsters, scorpions, castanets, countless crustaceans and best of all, huge schools of barracudas is what awaits you here.

- Diving in El Arco. We have to talk about this dive site in Formentera because we have two types of divers in mind: novices and experts specializing in underwater photography. The amateur divers will be amazed and advanced divers who have travelled all the way will have discovered an Eden for this exciting hobby as they will be able to immortalize a marine scene worthy of being featured in National Geographic! El Arco is the point that has the most marine fauna in all of Formentera and is in the Es Freus Marine Reserve, nestled between Punta Rasa and Punta Gavina. The beauty of this area is infinite. You will be mesmerized by its magnificent surroundings formed by natural stone arches and its abundant marine fauna and flora that colour the entire seabed and won't know what to pay the most attention to! Octopus, groupers, spider fish, anemones, nudibranchs and countless specimens are some of the species that dwell on this seabed.

- Diving in the Caves of Punta Rasa. Las Cuevas de Punta Rasa is a scuba dive that anyone can join that promises a lot of adventure. Both experienced and inexperienced people should sign up for this plan since a diving dive through sea caves never disappoints and what awaits you here is spectacular. We find them to the west of the island nestled between Cala Saona and Cap de Barbaria, in the Racó Alt area. An immersion of only 12 meters deep awaits you, so you will have the thrill of diving through sea caves at ease as the waters are not so deep. The Punta Rasa Caves are at the base of colossal cliffs and their entrances are separated by rock walls. We recommend it for all types of divers because, unlike the common areas, these caves are very spacious, which makes it easy to discover them without complications. In addition, more air bubbles are created that will allow you to enjoy weightlessness in a more enchanting way. This place is wrapped in a spectacular play of light as you come across moray eels, octopuses, groupers and all kinds of crustaceans.

- Snorkel. We have already left you the 3 best places to dive in Formentera, but as a bonus option and, in case you are looking for a simpler activity to do with anyone, here we leave you some of the best places to snorkel in Formentera.
