Company Overview
The Exploration Society is dedicated to teaching children of all ages about the great aspects of being outdoors, and aims to train them in order to take part in different types of expeditions in the UK and overseas. Depending on the childs age, The Exploration Society has three levels of learning that can be done.
- Base Camp – For children in year 4 to year 8, this course helps students become comfortable being outdoors, and giving them skills in order to feel confident when doing outdoor activities.
- Ascent Group – For children from years 7 to 10, this group will develop technical skills with challenging expeditions and activities.
- Summit Team – For year groups 10 to 13, students who take part in this group go on extended expeditions in the UK and abroad, and are involved in all aspects of the planning.

Summary Canoeing
Canoeing with The Exploration Society is one of the most popular activities offered by The Exploration Society, as it is a great way for students to experience what nature is like at it´s most beautiful. Depending on the age, skill level and budget of the school, The Exploration Society can arrange trips all over the UK, as well as the rest of Europe or even further! Groups will improve their canoeing skill under the qualified guides of The Exploration Society.

Summary Sailing
Sailing with The Exploration Society lets groups pretend to be pirates for a while, on their very own ships! Learning about the fundementals of sailing under a qualified skipper, students can explore the sea with their boats. Trips can be planned according to the budget, age and skill level of the children taking part, and the students are encouraged to help plan the trip.
As well as learning awesome new skills, there will be treasure hunts and ‘battles’ planned along the way to keep you on your toes!

Summary Climbing
Rock climbing with The Exploration Society allows students to learn how to confidently climb on indoor climbing walls. There are several sessions before trying a big challenge in one of the largest indoor climbing walls. Indoor rock climbing is a great way for children to overcome their fear of heights, and get them started on the way to health and fitness. This activity can also be combined with abseiling for even more fun.

Summary Abseiling
Abseiling with The Exploration Society allows students to learn how to confidently abseiling down indoor climbing walls. There are several sessions before trying a big challenge in one of the largest indoor climbing walls.
Indoor abseiling is a great way for children to overcome their fear of heights, and get them started on the way to health and fitness. This activity must be combined with indoor rock climbing.

Summary Horseback Riding
Horse riding expeditions with The Exploration Society are coming soon, and if they are anything like the other expeditions that The Exploration Society run, they will be great tools for helping children learn about different skills needed in the outdoors.
Depending on the age, skill and budget of the children taking part, The Exploration Society can arrange trips as close or far to home as you want. The students are also encouraged to have input on what the trip will be like, and where it will be.

Summary Hiking
Hiking with The Exploration Society can be undertaken in two different ways. You can go on a Sherpa Expedition where you take on lots of different mountaineering challenges, while camping wild or staying in huts. Where you go is up to you – all the students have a hand in planning the trip.
You can also take part in the Bushman Expedition, where you can learn survival techniques and bushcraft.
All hiking activities with The Exploration Society will allow students to learn navigation skills, emergency first aid and more.
