Welcome to Lion Royal Hotel Pony Trekking and Motorcycle Trail Riding Centre

We are located in the small market town of Rhayader, in Powys, mid-Wales, and are surrounded by beautiful countryside and stunning scenery.

Our Services

Pony Trekking

We offer pony trekking from our nearby stables and have a ¾ acre paddock at the back of the hotel for you to enjoy. We welcome all levels of abilities. You are welcome to bring your own horse, and we have to stable for up to 6 in a secure courtyard. 

We take many different routes so you have an opportunity to really explore the area.

We are licenced and approved by the BHS.

Motorcycles

For motorcyclists, we can offer a variety of guided trail riding days. We have a large garage and floodlit court-yard (both of which are secure) where you can keep your motorbike during your stay and drying facilities for your gear.

We welcome all riders, and you can enjoy a ride alone or with one of our experienced guides. On standard days riding with a guide you can expect to cover approximately 100 to 120 miles, and experienced riders can also join us for one of our extended days, where you can expect to cover around 200 miles.

We welcome groups who want to join us just for the day and not just those who are staying in the hotel.

Please note that we do not offer motorcycle hire.
