Lakeside Riding Centre

Anyone who knows horses will tell you that they’re the best companions you could hope for.

And for all those seeking companionship, there’s Lakeside Riding Centre. Owned and operated by Catherine Mace-Nelson, we are an equestrian centre with a reputation for fantastic horses, admirable welfare standards, and excellent hacking opportunities. Catherine herself is a highly qualified equine professional, but her horses and rides speak for themselves.

Lakeside is set in the enchanting countryside of North Norfolk between North Walsham, Wroxham and the Norfolk coast. Our hacks take place on the Worstead Estate, a beautiful slice of the landscape which includes woodland, lakes and fields. The estate covers an area of 5,000 acres so there’s no danger of exploring the whole thing!

All that space means we can go for long, leisurely hacks. Our shortest are an hour long but we often ride out for two and a half hours, perfect for feeling the fresh air, bonding with the horses and working up an appetite! Although most of our routes are worked out with experienced riders in mind, we can accommodate novice riders - just let us know your ability in advance!

As well as your ability level, you should let us know your height and weight before joining us for a ride. This is because our horses have their own abilities, strengths and personalities and we want to pair you up with the perfect one! At this time, our weight limit for riders is 80 kilograms, 12.7 stone.
