Parques de Sintra

If there is something that Sintra has that stands out greatly, it is its numerous palaces, castles and parks that could have come out of a fairy tale. Have you visited any? • Pena Palace. Without a doubt, the jewel in the crown of Sintra. This palace stands out for its colorful tones and, together with the park of the same name that surrounds it, you will feel like you are in a dream.
• Castelo dos Mouros. We go from forest fairies to a tale of knights and dragons with this rocky castle with high granite walls. It was built during the Islamic rule of the peninsula and suffered significant abandonment when the conflict between the Moors and Christians ended.
• Monserrate Palace. A writers' retreat transformed by Francis Cook into what we know today, a masterpiece of Romanticism, both for its architecture and its natural beauty (it has one of the best botanical gardens in the country).
• Sintra National Palace. This magnificent palace is located in the heart of Sintra and is popularly recognized thanks to its two conical chimneys. Did you know that it is the oldest palace in Portugal?
• Queluz Palace. This ostentatious royal residence will make you feel like a nobleman in the Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassical era, all while you stroll through its delicious and perfectly manicured gardens.

All these magical spaces and many more are those that are home to the Sintra Cultural Landscape, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1995. Don't miss them and let yourself be enchanted by their charming story-book settings!
