Welcome to Devon & Somerset Gliding Club!
We are based in Honiton, Devon, offering pilot training with our BGA (British Gliding Association) qualified instructors.
Our fleet is all modern two seat gliders, and we also give you the opportunity to fly our single seat gliders once you are qualified. When you join our club you will have the opportunity to not only learn to fly but also to operate our winch, land rovers and other equipment, as well as help retrieve and launch gliders, as everything here is carried out on a voluntary basis. We also offer theory briefings and lectures to help you improve your flying.
Our facilities include a clubhouse offering a full catering facility on our usual flying days, which are Wednesdays, Thursdays and weekends throughout the year.
During the summer months, we also have week-long courses available to everyone, no matter what the level of ability or experience. These courses are of course weather permitting! The courses consist of trial lessons, summer courses, junior gliding (to start at 14 years old), Group evenings and Open Days.
