Paddleboarding involves standing on a large paddle board and using a paddle to navigate through the water. It's a great way to explore the beautiful scenery of the Lake District and get some exercise at the same time. You don't need any prior experience to enjoy this activity, and it's suitable for people of all fitness levels over the age of 10.
Our experienced instructors will provide all the necessary equipment, including a paddle board, paddle, buoyancy aid and wetsuit. They'll also give you a safety briefing and teach you the basic paddle boarding techniques, such as how to stand up on the board and paddle effectively. Once you're comfortable, you'll head out onto the water and absorb the picturesque background views of the Lake District.
Derwent water is fortunately situated quite close to our base in Keswick. It is a beautiful location with crystal-clear waters, rolling hills, and lush green forests. As you paddle through the calm waters, you'll feel like you're in a postcard and take in the breathtaking views. Keep an eye out for some wonderful wildlife, as you may spot Otters, Kingfishers, Ospreys and more.
Our instructors are friendly and knowledgeable and will ensure you have a fun and memorable experience. They will use their vast experience and local insights to provide interesting facts and stories about the area. They'll also be on hand to offer tips and advice as you paddle.
