Low difficulty kayak excursion of about 7 km, with departure point in Caldelas, where You will descend the Miño River on a very fun route.
It is a calm descent, but in the first two kilometers you will notice how the current helps the kayak move easily. br />
Although we are about 30 km away. from the sea, the tide reaches this point, and if there is high tide, a kilometer and a half from the beginning of the route you have the option of leaving the main course and entering a channel that has its entrance on the Portuguese shore, and which is made up of Isla Grande and Conguedo, making its way through the abundant vegetation. A very quiet place that, if conditions permit, it is highly recommended to navigate.
By both options you will leave the Big Island behind, through the canal you will leave close to Portugal and the normal course on the Spanish shore.
From there you will see that the river is wider and two islands, behind the smaller one that is attached to the Spanish shore is the Areeiros river beach, good place to take a bath.
After the swim and snack it is time to return to the kayak, there are only 2.5 km left. One more kilometer and you will be able to take the photo with the most spectacular view of the city of Tui. There you will leave behind the marina and the Marine Command and continue to finish the adventure at the pier of the rowing and canoeing clubs just 500 m from the Tui-Valença International Bridge and with the wall of the city of Valença in the background.
