Look no further than this horseback hack. It takes place on the border of two countries, England and Wales in the unspoiled beauty of a little known part of the Marches, the Ceiriog Valley.
Hacking is a vigorous activity, designed to provide exercise for horse and rider. We’ll go trotting and cantering along tracks, trails and bridleways for 2 hours, enjoying expansive views, clean lungfuls of air and peace and quiet.
Due to the techniques involved, this is a ride for those with experience on horseback. Come prepared for a bracing ride with appropriate clothing and footwear and bring your own riding hat. If you can’t, don’t worry - you can borrow one of ours.
Our horses have different shapes, sizes, temperaments and abilities, and we’d like to know more about you in advance of the ride to make sure we choose a good match. We will ask about your height, weight and experience.

3h Horseback Hack in the Ceiriog Valley
Deal overview
There’s so much to see and explore on our corner of the England-Wales border, and the best way to experience it is on the back of one of our horses. You’ll find the Ceiriog Valley between the Shropshire town of Oswestry and Llangollen, in Wales.
If you’re an experienced rider, you’ll know that a hack is a form of riding that involves getting up to a canter and riding on different kinds of terrain and surfaces. For this reason, this 3-hour outing is for intermediate to advanced riders.
Our riding centre is located on a hillside and we’ll go riding over hilltops and other exposed areas, so we recommend that you dress for a few degrees lower than the temperature shown on the forecast. Please wear your own riding shoes/boots too.
If you need to borrow a riding hat you can, or bring your own. Finally, please provide your height, weight and details about your riding experience on request so that we can arrange for you to ride the horse that suits you best.
