Hiking and bivouac in the Gredos massif

Do you dare to join us on this adventure?

This consists of spending three days and two nights in the surroundings of the Gredos massif, where we will sleep outdoors, what is known as bivouac. >. We will take a route through the lagoons, the gorges of the Sierra and its peaks. A true gem, which we have "one step away" from home.

We will depart from Navalperal de Tormes at 7 in the afternoon, once the sun is lower and the heat has decreased. We will head towards the Garganta del Pinar, to reach the Cinco Lagunas. During this day, we intend to get closer, for which we will walk until nightfall, at which time we will spread the bags in the chosen place and glimpse the ceiling of stars, until sleep surprises us.

The main course comes the next day, with the end of the ascension to the lagoons. From the largest of the lagoons, the Cimera, we will climb to the small one, the Gutre, to reach the Falsa Brecha, arriving to La Galana, the peak that with its 2572 meters, is the second highest in the Central System.

From here and continuing along the ridge, we will reach the majestic Pico Almanzor (2592 m), a place from which it will be possible to appreciate the Castilian and Extremaduran steppes. Next, we will descend through the Laguna Grande, to enjoy the bivouac, further away from the refuge.

On the third day, we will return to Navalperal, passing completely through the Garganta de Gredos, the natural drainage of the Lagoon. We will be able to observe the remains of the old glacier.

In total, there are 30 km that occur in a terrain with 1400 meters of unevenness, which is why we warn of the demands of this route. There will be sections that are difficult to complete, such as the end of the Galana and the Almanzor, which you may not do if you do not feel capable. Removing this, the route is accessible for any profile, who is somewhat accustomed to the mountains.

We need you to bring your own sleeping bag, warm clothing, raincoat, and food for the three days and three liters of water, since we will take the rest from natural water sources.
