1-day guided tour of Chichen Itza

Excellent price for a mandatory excursion for your next vacation in Cancun because in one day you will get to know the main attractions of the Mayan jungle by visiting the archaeological zone of Chichen Itzá strong>departing from Playa del Carmen, in the Riviera Maya.

Our first guided tour will be to the pyramids of Chichen Itzá. recently named one of the "7 Wonders of the Modern World". It is the most important city, capital of the ancient Mayan empire. The main building of the archaeological site is the Kukulcán pyramid, which houses more than 91 interior steps, tombs and levels. On the outside, it is impressive to see a shape similar to that of a stone feathered serpent, the most representative icon of this pre-Hispanic civilization.

Chichen Itzá is a word that in Mayan means "Mouth of the Witches' Well" and legend has it that on each equinox, that is, September 21 and March 21, at 3:00 p.m. hours you can see the shape of a snake sliding thanks to the play of shadows and light. For the ancient Mayans, this phenomenon meant the beginning and end of the agricultural cycle and was decided by Kukulcán, the god of the earth.

At the end of the tour of the archaeological zone, we will take a break to eat at a buffet-style restaurant. Then, our second part of the excursion consists of visiting acenote, which could be Xkeken or Ikil. In the cenote we can swim and cool off in these ancient ceremonial centers.

Before going back to the hotel, we are going to make a special stop in the town of Valladolid, a beautiful colonial city where we can walk for half an hour to see its streets and the cathedral.
