Descent of the Riofrío ravine in Aller 6 hours

If you are an experienced canyoner, we have prepared a unique canyon descent for you. It's exotic, it's wild, it's unknown and best of all, it's intensely adrenaline-inducing. It is full of challenges, abysses and beautiful landscapes and we will see it with an itinerary of approximately 6 hours starting from the Asturian town of Aller.

As it is a canyoning route for people with experience you already know what you have to bring: hiking boots, a towel, a change of clothes and something to eat and drink. Don't worry about the rest, we'll take care of it. We will bring all the necessary materials to face the Riofrío ravine and an expert guide on this unknown journey. It is a canyoning route very aquatic and with intense greenery, so we recommend trying it at the end of spring, summer and autumn so that you can enjoy it properly.

The Riofrío ravine is located in the heart of the Sierra de Valverde and has been carved by the course of the Braña river. We are talking about a canyoning route that is pure emotion from start to finish and literally, we will be able to see it as soon as we start, because our first challenge will be a colossal rappelling descent of about 25 meters high that It is divided in two by a badina that is sandwiched in the middle of this waterfall.

We will land in a small pool and walk along an open and uncomplicated walkway. It will be flat terrain for just a couple of minutes and what comes next is adrenaline in its purest form, because although we are just beginning, we have already come across the most fun part of the Riofrío ravine, the largest waterfall of this entire canyoning route and we will also overcome it with a rappel. We will bridge an abyss of a total of 32 meters high.

As you can see, the Riofrío ravine does not let up and is only the beginning. After this great rappelling descent we find two ledges, we can jump over these or descend again in the same way, but we will decide that on the same day depending on the desire and the flow. After that you better be prepared, because there comes a rappelling sequence that seems to never end, in total we will make 5 descents, having an average height of about 15 meters.

It's already overlong chain we have little left to finish the Riofrío ravine and what we will have pending will be to walk through the interior of disturbing chasms and caves, which are adorned on the inside by moss and ferns. The remaining journey will simply be to enjoy the unique environment and overcome immense chaos of rocks until reaching the end of the canyoning route.
