We’ve put this canoeing experience together so that you can enjoy paddling with the current downstream and don’t have to worry about fighting your way back up.
It starts in Boroughbridge, where we have a watersports venue with showers, toilets and changing rooms. From here, we arrange transport to Ripon. The return journey is made down the River Ure.
We’ll launch onto a canal in Ripon and follow this out into God’s Own Country, the landscape of North Yorkshire, where we meet the Ure. Drifting between the banks in our canoes is a real pleasure. We can stop for rests on the riverbanks, where you can enjoy a picnic if you bring one. It takes about 5 hours to get back to Boroughbridge. All told, the full-day experience is about 6 hours long.
When we do this trip in Canadian canoes, we can welcome children from the age of just 7 years old. This is because each boat has 2 occupants and we can pair up children with their parents. As well as the canoes, we supply safety equipment to all participants and send a professional guide to lead the way down the River Ure.
