During this walk, you will complete the Châteaux route. This route begins from our leisure base located in Cénac-et-Saint-Julien. It is a commune in Périgord Noir which is located a few kilometers from the town of Sarlat-la-Canéda. During your journey, you will admire numerous castles such as the castelnaud castle, a medieval fortress which overlooks the Dordogne valley and which has was classified as a historical monument around fifty years ago.
For this canoe trip, the meeting point is therefore at our leisure base, i.e., at Cénac-et-Saint-Julien for a direct departure, or to Beynac or Carsac-Aillac with a bus transfer to the base of Cénac-et-Saint-Julien. On site, you will find our team who will give you your equipment and give you a briefing including an explanation of the use of the equipment as well as the safety instructions and navigation to apply.
She will then help you put your boat in the water and you will set off to conquer the Dordogne for a duration of 2 hours 30 minutes. During your walk, as explained previously, you will admire the castelnaud castle >, the Château de Fayrac and also that of Beynac. You will pass under three bridges, the Cénac bridge, the Castelnaud bridge and the Vézac bridge. At the end of your activity, you will arrive in Beynac, you will disembark on a small beach and if you have chosen to come from the bases of Beynac or Carsac-Aillac, a bus will take you back to these places.
Please note:
- You can do this activity from April to October.
- Don't forget to bring what you need to protect yourself from the sun.
- To carry out this activity, you must be able to swim several meters and submerge yourself underwater.
