Have you ever been to a place that feels like a fairy tale?

Peel Island is the stuff of literary legend, being the real Wild Cat Island from the classic children’s adventure book Swallows and Amazons. We’re offering the chance to explore it yourself - by canoe!

The island lies in Coniston Water, one of the most famous lakes in the Lake District National Park. We’ll cross the water to the island, moor up at the secret harbour and explore the small, wooded isle. Then, we’ll get back into the canoes and circumnavigate the island before returning to where we started.

Equipment will be provided for this 3-hour trip and a designated instructor will lead the tour. It’s suitable for adults, children and watersports novices because our Canadian canoes are easy to use and very safe.

Bonus adventures include finding the geocache that’s hidden on the island, enjoying a picnic on shore (if you pack one) and jumping into the lake from the rocks!
