What could be better than a boat trip to explore this famous monument? Built in the 19th century, this fortress had the initial mission of protecting the mouth of the Charente, the arsenal of Rochefort and the harbour of the island of Aix. This monument is today famous in part thanks to the TV game of the same name which takes place within its ramparts.
In order to discover this building in the best conditions, we suggest you privatize a boat for a half day on the open sea /strong>. You will be accompanied by a professional skipper who will be responsible for guiding the boat along the water. He knows the region and the history of the fort by heart, he will be able to share his knowledge with you. It is therefore a sea trip that is both entertaining and playful.
You will board our super boat the Phileas Fogg in our center which is located in the Maupas nautical zone in La Tranche- sur-Mer40 minutes from La Roche-sur-Yon, 50 minutes from Sables-d’Olonne and 1 hour from La Rochelle. To allow you to experience this sea trip with complete ease, this semi-rigid boat is at the height of comfort!
For approximately 3 and a half hours, you will sail in the open sea on an route mapped out by your captain leading you to discover the unmissable spots of the strong>Bay of Biscay. You will take the sea from our nautical base to venture out to meet the mussels culture areas on the edge of the l 'île de Ré. You will pass under the spectacular bridge of the archipelagoand you can start by admiring the Fort Boyard from afar. After a few moments of navigation in the company of cargo ships heading towards the port of La Rochelle, you will finally arrive around the longe de Boyard, where this imposing structure is located.
This will be the time to have a little culture point with your skipper who will be able to tell you more about the history of the fortress. After having toured the fort, you will head back towards the coasts along the Île de Ré and its pretty towns such as The Fleet and Saint-Martin. It will then be time to put your feet back on dry land.
