Our trial flight in a light aircraft is the antidote. This 30-minute flight will remind you why aviation is such a fascinating pursuit, and it could be the first stage of a long and rewarding journey.

This experience includes preparatory checks, inspections and a briefing delivered by a qualified pilot who will be your flight instructor. They will carry out take off and landing but, thanks to our dual control system, will allow you to control the plane once in the air.

The plane in question is a Cessna 152 with two seats. In order to get into the second seat, you must be 9 years old or older and weigh less than 90 kilograms.

We are a flying school based at Dunkeswell Aerodrome in Devon, near Honiton. The 30 minutes of airtime could see you reaching the south coast and flying over Seaton and Sidmouth before returning to land. Back at Dunkeswell, we’ll present you with a certificate.

How do you like the sound of flying from Dunkeswell Aerodrome outside Honiton over Somerset and Dorset to Weymouth then following the Jurassic Coast back? But there’s more - you will be controlling the plane for up to 90% of the flight time.

This is a 1-hour trial flight, a special treat for yourself, a fantastic gift for someone else, or an excellent way to start the process of becoming a pilot. It’s available to anyone over the age of 9 years old who weighs less than 90 kg.

That weight restriction is due to the light aircraft we’ll use - a Cessna 152. It has 2 seats, so you’ll be in the co-pilot position alongside your flight instructor. Dual controls allow you to fly the plane under close supervision.

The whole experience lasts considerably more than 1 hour because you’ll be walked through the process of preparation in a briefing led by the instructor. Then, after the flight, we will present you with a first flight certificate.
