Company Overview
At the Deva Equestrian Center we address all types of audiences who want to have a first contact with the horse or who seek to do so on a regular basis. For this we welcome you at the equestrian facilities that we have a couple of kilometers from Gijón.
In addition to being specialists in riding classes, we provide equestrian baptisms for those who want to start in this discipline. We organize them in July and August so you have more free time. They consist of 3 beginner level lessons of 45 minutes plus a route on the fourth day around the farm.
You also have:
- Horseback riding along the Green Path: we are near Mount Deva where we go riding with adults and children from 12 years old. The minimum time for these routes is 60 minutes and they are very easy.
- Summer riding camps: organized by weeks in July and August. Participants must be a minimum of 6 years old and young people up to 17 can come. They are from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until 5 p.m. with English if you prefer that your children stay to eat.
- Visits for schools: a proposal for students aged 8 to 14 who will spend a day at the equestrian center receiving the first instructions on how to ride a horse.
Summary Horseback Riding
With the Deva Equestrian Center you can take a horseback ride through Gijón with a team of horseback riding professionals. Our facilities are open all year round so you can go riding around Mount Deva. The excursions are carried out whenever the day is suitable for it, both in winter and during the summer months.
Our equestrian routes are aimed at adults and children who are at least 12 years old. We go out in minimum groups of 3 riders and we do not exceed 6 participants per excursion because it is more pleasant to do them in small groups. This way we can pay more attention to you.
The tours are booked for 1 hour or more in the morning and afternoon shifts between Mondays and Thursdays. On Fridays and Saturdays we limit departures to the hours before noon. We will head towards the Green Path along quiet paths that are very easy for people without experience on horseback.
We are going to lend you a helmet that you must keep on throughout the route. You will be more comfortable riding with long pants and boots. Sports footwear will also help you to accompany us on horseback rides around Gijón.
Summary Horse Riding Camps
At the Deva Equestrian Center we receive students interested in horses for our summer equestrian camps. We only require that they be between 6 and 17 years old. You can choose the weeks you want between July 4 and August 26 as the last day of the program.
We always have two basic options from Monday to Friday: equestrian camp from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. or leaving at 5 p.m. Those enrolled in this second proposal will eat at our facilities and do activities in English. Those who choose to leave at 2 p.m. will have a sandwich with juice and some fruit during the break we will take in the middle of the morning.
We will be 2 kilometers from the city of Gijón in an approved riding center surrounded by natural spaces. Although we will prepare them with our knowledge as experts, we do not need the students to have previously taken equestrian classes. In addition to teaching them to ride, we will do other activities related to the care of the horse, knowing how it is prepared and what it needs for its maintenance.
We will be helped by free time instructors who will organize games to combine with the equestrian activities that we will develop.
