There are different types of federative licences depending on each mountaineer's needs. Here we present them so you can choose the one that best suits your requirements and purchase it.

  • Type AU - Regional Licence. This applies to mountain sports practised within the issuing province and covers hiking, camping, trekking, climbing walls, climbing, canyoning, hillwalking, caving, mountain running, ski mountaineering, snowshoeing and via ferrata. The price is €34 for youths and €60 for adults.

 Teaching to rappel


  • Type A - FEDME Hiking Licence. Covers hiking, trekking, camping and mountaineering WITHOUT ropes, crampons or snowshoes. The price is €41 for youths and €80 for adults. Valid for Spain, Andorra, French Pyrenees, Morocco and Portugal.

 Canyoning guides


  • Type OT - Autumn Promotional Licence. Valid for the last 3 months of the year. Provides coverage in the same countries as the Type A licence and covers the same activities as the Type AU licence. The cost is €45 for youths and €60 for adults.

Mountain sports


  • Type B - FEDME Licence (formerly B1). Valid in Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Andorra and the French Pyrenees. Costs €56 for youths and €100 for adults. Covers all sports included in the Type AU licence.
*Alpine Skiing and MTB supplements can be added to any of these licences for an additional €5.

  • Type C - FEDME Licence (formerly B2). Covers Spain, Morocco and European political territory. Includes mountaineering, hillwalking, hiking, trekking, camping, climbing, alpinism, climbing walls, canyoning, mountain running, canicross, snowshoeing, caving, ski touring, cross-country skiing, ski mountaineering, alpine skiing, via ferrata, telemark and MTB. MTB accidents during competitions are not included. The youth rate is €89 and €124 for adults.

 High mountain guides


  • Type D - FEDME Licence (formerly B3). Valid worldwide except for polar expeditions and mountains exceeding 7,000 metres in altitude. Covers the same activities as Type C and also excludes MTB accidents during competitions. The fee is €149 for youths and €175 for adults.

 Federal mountain licenses


  • Type E - FEDME Licence (formerly B4). The licence applies worldwide including expeditions and mountains over 7,000 metres in altitude. Covers the same mountain sports as Type C and also excludes MTB competition accidents. The price is €434 for youths and €465 for adults.

*The validity period for all insurance types is from 1st January to 31st December, regardless of when processed during the year. Likewise, the fees are fixed, meaning no proportional payment can be made during the year.
