Here you’ll find all the offers for Formigal if you’re tempted. In total, it has a vertical drop of over 1 km, reaching up to 2,250 m at its highest point. If you’re keen to explore this resort, here’s a selection of the best slopes in Formigal. Runs for all levels, so the whole family can enjoy themselves.
Formigal is divided into 4 valleys, which you can easily access one by one while skiing. Let’s get started!
1. Tres Hombres
This is arguably the standout run in the entire Formigal-Panticosa resort. At 1.5 km long with a 450-metre vertical drop, it’s a comfortable, wide slope often used for major international competitions. You’ll need to take the Sallent lift from Sextas and then another lift (Tramacastilla) to reach the summit of Tres Hombres peak. It’s a red run but suitable for both experts and intermediates looking to improve. Here’s a video of a descent down this slope.
2. El Bosque
Also in the Sextas area, this run is famous for its breathtaking views as it winds through a forest at 1,800 metres above sea level. Access is via the Crestas chairlift, and the descent begins at Tosquera, leading to an unparalleled peaceful spot. It’s a red run where you’ll also see a replica of an Indian village during the descent—pure luxury, and many consider it the best run in the resort! Best tackled in the morning for optimal snow quality and coverage. Here’s a GoPro video of the descent.
3. Escarra
Another favourite among fans of this winter resort. Reach the Punta de las Tres Huegas via the ESCARRA lift from the Izas area. It’s an accessible run but with a steep 1 km stretch where you’ll descend 280 metres in total. Highly recommended! Check out this video of the run.
4. Stadium Huegas
A shorter run, also accessed from the Izas area via the Huegas lift. Another firm favourite among skiers. This red run is roughly 1 km long and takes you back down to Izas. Plus, it ends at a super-cool igloo where you can relax with a drink—like authentic Eskimo sushi. Yeah!

5. Lanuza
Staying in the Izas area, take the Lanuza lift up to the blue Sarrios run, which connects to the red Lanuza slope. A 500-metre run parallel to the lift brings you back to Izas. Simple but fun—you can pick up serious speed here. Pure adrenaline! Watch the video below.
6. Pipos
This unique run is accessed via a "ski ratrack"—a piste basher you hitch onto with a cable, ascending like a regular lift. This red run is rated intermediate-to-difficult, and you can take a break at an old shepherd’s hut called La Glera, around 2,000 metres up—absolutely brilliant! Oh, and the ski ratrack is included in the lift pass, so don’t hesitate to give it a go.
7. Batallero
This final run might be the easiest, but it’s no less fun. We’re switching valleys to the Portalet area at 1,750 metres, where the 6-seater Batallero lift starts. Classified as a blue run, it’s incredibly enjoyable, with spectacular views of the entire Portalet Valley.
