1. Cala El Racó
This cove is located in the port of Calpe, near the iconic Peñón de Ifach. The snorkelling route here runs parallel to the breakwater and is very well marked. It’s one of the best coves for snorkelling in Alicante.
You’ll spot deep marine beds in its crystal-clear waters just metres from the shore. There’s even an underwater arch and starfish sightings.

It’s easily accessible, welcoming, and family-friendly. The transparent water ensures excellent marine wildlife viewing.
2. Cala Granadella
Ranked among the best snorkelling spots on the Costa Blanca, it’s also considered Spain’s third-best beach. This cove is ideal for water sports like snorkelling, scuba diving, and kayaking.
The Cala Granadella is a 160-metre horseshoe-shaped stretch, entirely surrounded by rocks and nestled between Xàbia and Moraire.

Perfect for snorkelling due to its accessibility, marked routes, rich marine life, and turquoise waters. The snorkelling route starts to the left of the beach (facing the sea). On the right, there’s also a swimming and diving area with a small rocky outcrop.
3. Cala Tío Ximo
Located in Benidorm, Cala Tío Ximo is a small, peaceful cove stretching 70 metres long and 6 metres wide. This pebble beach lies within the Serra Gelada Natural Park.
The cove has good accessibility, fine sand, and crystal-clear waters. A circular snorkelling route lets you explore its vibrant marine life. An ideal spot for this activity.
4. Tabarca Island
Tabarca Island was Spain’s first marine reserve and is a top diving destination. The 2-kilometre-long island is perfect for snorkelling or scuba diving.

Comprising several coves, the best way to explore is by boat from Santa Pola. Its stunning underwater scenery is well worth the trip.
5. Baños de la Reina, El Campello
These artificial rock pools are in Calpe, Alicante. Now a popular snorkelling and diving spot, you can swim between pools and admire the marine life. The surrounding areas also offer great snorkelling with abundant fish.

The shallow, transparent pools make marine spotting easy. An underwater trail educates visitors about local species.
6. Cala del Metge
Near Punta Albir Lighthouse in the Sierra Gelada Natural Park, Cala del Metge has tricky access (via a footpath), but this adds to its charm. Its quiet waters are ideal for snorkelling among rocky seabeds.
7. La Caleta
A small cove in Villajoyosa (160m long, 30m wide), rarely crowded, making it perfect for water sports.
