PARAGLIDING ON THE COSTA BLANCA
1. Santa PolaPARAGLIDING ON THE COSTA BLANCA
This is the premier location in Alicante for paragliding flights. Flights reach heights over 100 metres above sea level.
You'll soar above Tabarca Island, the Santa Pola Lighthouse and the various beaches in the area.
It's a perfect area for your first paragliding flight or to pilot the paraglider yourself.
2. Agost
This offers one of Alicante's most beautiful flights. During your flight you'll be surrounded by the mountains of Sierra del Cid and Sierra del Maigmó.
The typical flight in Agost is tandem, which you'll experience alongside an instructor.
The flight difficulty is low and each flight lasts 25 minutes. It can be done year-round.
3. Benidorm
The Benidorm flight takes place over Sierra Cortina, allowing you to fly above Terra Mítica theme park and Puig Campana.
This is a slope-soaring thermal flight, meaning it utilises updrafts created by winds hitting the mountainside and thermal currents from solar heating of the ground.
4. La Mola
Take-off occurs at La Mola in Novelda, within the Vinalopó Mitjà region. Landing takes place at the foot of the slope in abandoned crop fields between La Mola's slope and the paved road where cars park. The flight lasts about 20 minutes plus the instructor's briefing.
5. Palomaret
This is one of the province's best flying sites, both for the high number of flyable days and opportunities to approach Maigmó's summit or towards Sierra del Cid. It's near the town of Agost.
It's a mountain flight at 850 metres above sea level with a 370-metre elevation drop. Flight duration is 30 minutes.
6. Montcabrer
Located on the province's third highest mountain, in Cocentaina town within the El Comtat region.
This inland flight offers a large clear area and magnificent views. Flights reach 1200 metres altitude with a 750-metre elevation drop.
7. Agres
The flying area is situated in Sierra de Mariola Natural Park, right above Agres town in the El Comtat region, very close to Alcoy.
This high-altitude flight reaches 1230 metres above sea level with a 580-metre elevation drop. You'll enjoy spectacular views accompanied by vultures during your flight.
