He’s been in the acting world since 1995, with roles in films such as La ley de la frontera, La muñeca rusa, and El día de la bestia. Since then, he hasn’t stopped appearing on the big screen, in theatre, and in TV series like El Internado, Aquí no hay quien viva, and El Comisario, among others.
He’s worked as a film stuntman and often gets his adrenaline fix by riding motorbikes or running. Want to know which adventure sports appeal to him most? And tell us here what you think!

Yumping: Have you ever tried any extreme sports?
Ismael Martínez: If extreme sports mean activities involving physical risk, mostly outdoors, and giving you an adrenaline rush... then yes. I worked as a film stuntman for 8 years.
Y: Which adventure sport would you love to try?
I.M.: I’d love to try mountaineering.
Y: Which one would you never dare to do?
I.M.: Going shark-feeding, for example (laughs).
Y: Do you dedicate your free time to any hobbies?
I.M.: Yes, like everyone else, I also need to switch off now and then, so I have a few. Playing sports, reading, drawing, gardening...

Y: What are your usual ways to get an adrenaline rush?
I.M.: Generally, I get my adrenaline fix and unwind by running, riding motorbikes, roughhousing with my kids...
Y: Do you think people should try more adventure sports?
I.M.: I believe everyone should do what they enjoy. But I also think adventure sports are a great way to experience new thrills.

Y: What’s the most exciting thing you’ve ever done?
I.M.: Jumping from a stagecoach exploding while being pulled by four galloping horses. That was pretty thrilling!
Y: Land, sea, or air sports?
I.M.: I mostly prefer land. At sea or in the air, I feel less secure.
Y: Would you do extreme sports with friends or your partner?
I.M.: Not now. The last one I did with friends was rock climbing.

Y: Which extreme sport would surprise someone if you did it?
I.M.: I suppose I’d pick white-water rafting, since it’s so much fun.
