There comes a point in your life when you ask yourself THE question: "What am I doing with my life? Am I happy?" This reflection might have already come, might not have arrived yet, or might be on its way. But yes, this moment comes to everyone sooner or later (and anyone who says otherwise is lying to you or, worse, lying to themselves).

A while ago, I talked about 5 things that will make you happier – these are fundamental to feeling fulfilled and at peace with yourself. Today I'm expanding that vision, hoping it helps you.

7 Steps to Change Your Life

1. Acknowledge It

The first thing you need to realise is that you must change your mindset. Okay, there might be some serious issues or circumstances might not be ideal for focusing on yourself. But you should know that, no matter how serious things are, the attitude with which you face them will make all the difference. Keep that in mind!

 Take your time to disconnect

2. Be Aware of the Change Process

Once you've acknowledged it, now's the time to find something that helps you be happy. You could try sports in general, though I'd particularly recommend adventure sports in this case. Why? Because they can awaken that feeling of being alive in you, of releasing adrenaline. And in case you didn't know, here's a list of adrenaline's benefits.

 Reflect on your life

3. Don't Make Excuses

Sometimes you're your own worst enemy. So stop holding yourself back. I could elaborate, but it wouldn't be any clearer. Don't be negative – stay positive. Life's too short to waste it.

Fight for your dreams

4. Find a Hobby

Changing jobs or family situations is very difficult – these are typically two of our biggest concerns. But what is easy is finding something that helps you switch off from your daily routine, that shows you there's far more out there than you imagine. Like what? You might ask.

Do something that makes you happy

The answer is simple: head to the mountains for hiking, canyoning or via ferrata at weekends; go to the sea with a surf school and board, try kitesurfing or have a diving taster session; dare to take the controls of a light aircraft, try bungee jumping or do that thing you've always wanted but never dared: go skydiving.

5. Surround Yourself with Positive People

It might sound strange, but the people around us often influence us to the point of holding us back. What's the solution? Through adventure sports, you'll meet healthy people who love life, respect others and adore nature – the perfect environment to relax and recharge. And who knows... You might meet someone interesting. Check out this article!

6. Make Every Minute Count Like It's Your Last

We're just passing through here, and we'll never know how long this journey lasts. So perhaps the most important advice of all is to make the most of every moment – every trip into nature, every second with loved ones, every sunny day (and the rainy ones too).

 Find alternative hobbies

7. Add Adrenaline to Your Life

I always say this, but nothing else liberates you from drowning worries and leaves stress behind quite like it does. Aim to do an activity where adrenaline floods your body at least once every two months (that's already generous). Need ideas? The ultimate activity for this is undoubtedly bungee jumping. Here's a list of all the bungee jumping options available.

 Release adrenaline like never before

But there are other options that'll awaken that feeling in you: skydiving, surfing, white-water kayaking, snowboarding, canyoning, via ferratas...
