Riding a Segway is one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to discover a city or spend pleasant hours with friends, family or your partner. It's ideal for all ages and requires no prior experience or special training – anyone keen to try is perfectly capable.

How does a Segway work?
It's a highly effective personal transport method that can navigate all types of terrain, whether tarmac or footpaths. When practising this activity you needn't worry about a thing: it's fast, silent and pollution-free. It requires no petrol as it runs on electric charge from any standard socket.
Controlling it simply requires the rider's body movements, working with gravity: if the rider leans forward, the Segway moves forward; leaning backward produces the reverse; it can also turn sideways or even perform 360° spins.
Segway characteristics
Among its many advantages, here are some key features we consider important:
- Load capacity. Generally, Segways can support between 45 and 110kg. Some models may have adapters for heavier loads if required.

- Batteries. Powered by lithium batteries that constantly display charge status. Full charge takes 8-10 hours with a range of 20-40km depending on battery type, terrain, riding style and carried weight. Charging works with 90-200V outlets at 50-60Hz AC.
- Speed. Can reach about 20km/h. Beginners shouldn't exceed 9km/h; experienced riders may travel at 12.5km/h or above.
- Weight and height. Weighs around 50kg, making transport/storage relatively easy. Its design takes up no more space than an average-sized person: about 20cm ground clearance with shoulder-width dimensions.
- Terrain. Tyres and tilt sensors enable navigation across different surfaces while keeping the rider stable during transitions.
Is riding a Segway eco-friendly?
Yes. Originally conceived as alternative, non-polluting transport. Ideal for short distances, it harnesses both the rider's momentum and renewable energy programming. That said, the required electricity charging isn't entirely eco-friendly.

Why not leave the car at home and start using a Segway for your commute? You'll avoid traffic jams, parking hassles and be kinder to the environment.
