This week marks the start of the Christmas holidays, and we want to help you find the perfect gift. Learning to ski could be an ideal activity, especially if you live in Madrid. Choose to visit one of the 3 alpine skiing resorts you'll find nearby, plus a cross-country skiing station just over an hour from Madrid city centre.
To make the most of the upcoming snowfall, Montaventura Ski Club offers an intensive three-day ski course for beginners aged 7 and above, including adults. They have a large team of instructors who will teach you everything you need to know to handle yourself on the slopes. You'll be able to safely practise an activity that will undoubtedly hook you.
For children aged 6 to 9, groups are limited to a maximum of 6 children; this ensures that with smaller groups, they'll not only learn better but also be more closely supervised by the instructors.
For adults and children over 9, groups will consist of 7 to 10 people. Throughout the day, they'll learn with an instructor, meaning each participant will receive nearly 5 hours of daily practical lessons. An offer you can't refuse if you're genuinely interested in learning to ski.
Montaventura has over 10 years of experience teaching people of all levels in various cross-country skiing disciplines, so they can guarantee that after 3 days with their instructors, you'll have a solid foundation and such a rewarding experience that you'll add it to your outdoor activities calendar.
If you already know how to ski, you can benefit from the group transport and ski independently without queuing for your lift pass. Currently, they have pick-up points in Atocha and Soto de la Moraleja, but if you need a different stop, you can contact them, and they'll try to arrange one nearby.
The course will take place in Valdesquí, but if conditions are better elsewhere, you may do the course in Navacerrada, La Pinilla or Navafría instead.
The courses include a full-day instructor plus bus transport. Meals, equipment and lift passes are not included.
