How does bungee jumping work?
Bungee jumping involves leaping off a bridge (as the name suggests) while secured with a harness and two dynamic ropes. The jump itself is more of a giant swing, like a pendulum, where you’re tethered to the bridge via the harness and ropes. The movement during the jump is pendulum-like. The ropes are anchored to one side of the bridge, and you jump from the opposite side.

What does it feel like to jump off a bridge?
The sensation is incredibly intense, and the experience is unforgettable, flooding your body with adrenaline—especially the moment you decide to leap... that’s when a whirlwind of emotions takes over!

My own experience... a bit of a story!
I was supposed to jump from a bridge near Lugo, but just as we were all set up, the police showed up. Turns out the centre we’d booked with was missing some permits, so we couldn’t jump that day.

They suggested we head to the Deza River area the next day, about 5 km from Silleda (Pontevedra), at the Silleda–Vila de Cruces viaduct. Since we couldn’t arrange transport to the new jump site that day—and to make up for the hassle—the organisers invited us to ride with them in their car and offered unlimited jumps for €45 (instead of the usual €30 for a first jump or €40 for two).

Our jump was from a 50-metre-high bridge, with a freefall of roughly 25 metres.

The activity included all CE-certified equipment, guidance from the instructors, and civil liability insurance coverage.

The whole thing lasts about 2-3 minutes per jump—between leaping, swinging, and getting back into position.
It was an experience I’ll never forget! It’s a way to dive into the world of adventure sports without spending much, all while getting an unmatched adrenaline kick!
