Many companies allow you to share this experience with the family's furry member, and there's no better plan!Some companies have kayaks that are perfectly equipped for their transport, but if they don't, it's not a problem as they can also go on a traditional kayak. It is a stable vehicle that will allow you to navigate comfortably through rivers, sea, and lagoons with your dog.
One of the most popular areas to enjoy kayaking with dogs is the Descent of the Sella or the Deva—the latter due to its shallow depth. And if you prefer saltwater, the best thing is to enjoy the Costa Blanca, as the beaches and coves of Alicante are very pleasant and calm in terms of tides.
Hiking Route
As we mentioned, the most common thing is that you take your pets for a walk in the parks, especially if you are in big cities. In this case, the plan we propose is to leave the buildings behind and start exploring the mountains and valleys that surely surround you by practising hiking.
The best thing for this type of adventure is to look for large shaded areas that allow your dog to run freely and, if possible, splash around in one of the rivers, lagoons, or streams that run through the landscape. You can find places like this in environments such as the Cañón del Río Lobos or the Sierra de Cazorla. But we are sure you can find many more in your area!
Snowshoeing Excursion
I don't know if your dogs like snow, but mine (pardon the pun) goes crazy for it, and I'm not lying. Enjoying a snowshoeing excursion through fields covered in white can be a great activity for everyone because... who doesn't like snow?
To enjoy this adventure, you can go to the highest areas of the peninsula, such as the Pyrenees in Huesca, Lleida, and Catalonia, although in Sierra Nevada you will also find amazing landscapes. That said, we recommend that if you want your pet to be part of it and they are not used to the cold, you should put them in a glamorous coat and some booties. Even if you hear that it's not necessary because of their fur, they are wrong! (provided they are not accustomed to it).
Paddle Surf Route
Both of you on the SUP board, you can navigate, skipping over the sea waves and enjoying authentic landscapes. The ideal thing for a paddle surf excursion is to choose a setting with the optimal characteristics. If you have never shared time during a similar experience, some of the most recognised environments for this are the San Juan Reservoir, the Costa Brava, the Rías Baixas, and the waters of the Mar Menor in Murcia. Why? Because of the calmness of their waters.
**Recommendations: generally, the companies that allow you to enjoy this service have the necessary safety requirements so that the pups can participate. But just in case—since you like spending time with your pets, such as practising water sports—it would be good to have a life jacket in their size as a precaution.
Boat Rides or Fishing Trips
Looking to embark on a new adventure? Why not do it on a boat, a vessel that will accompany you to enjoy the most beautiful coastal areas of your region. Your +1 will be your dog, and we are more than sure that the rocking of the boat will be enjoyable for them. And hey, who knows... maybe you'll both feel like taking a good dip.
