Welcome to Dudley & West Midlands Zoological Society

We are based in Dudley, in the West Midlands, and are set in beautiful and unique surroundings around an 11th century castle on a 40 acre wooded hillside.

We have more than 1300 animals and nearly 200 species, including some of the rarest creatures on Earth and many endangered animals.

We have many events at Dudley Zoological Gardens, including educational Workshops. There is something here that the whole family can enjoy. Our Discovery Centre is home to a variety of small, tame animals which are used in our teaching sessions. We have many Exhibition areas which inform you about our worldwide conservation projects and partnerships, and give you interesting facts about some of the highly endangered species we have.

Child Safety

We want to ensure everyones safety at Dudley Zoological Gardens, and make sure it is a safe place for your child or school group. We undertake our own rigourous risk assessments and all of our education staff are CRB checked.
